Trust Co. and Pacifier blow through beer town
Either the freezing weather and snow in the middle of March, or the recent fatal accidents in night clubs lead to a less than mediocre show at the Rave Bar in Milwaukee, Wis. on March 8.  Besides the bad weather and looming possible disaster, the headlining band also had to compete with a small audience of young kids just barley old enough to drive a car, and definitely not there to see them, but the opening band.

'Crossroads of Twilight' does little to resolve conflicts in Wheel of Time saga
For the tenth installment of his "Wheel of Time" series, Robert Jordan has kept things low key. There is not much in the way of action in this novel. It seems to be more of a place holder in the series than a way to further the plot. Of the three main characters in the series, you don't see one of them until page 540 of this 680 page book.-More-

Anti-Pop Consortium provides proof that hip-hop can be fresh and original
Mainstream hip-hop really sucks. I’m not just saying that it sucks, but it suuuuuuuuucccckkksssss!!!!! Every song I hear sounds practically the same. If I have heard an artist say “bling bling” one more time, I’m going to have to neuter someone. I actually got so fed-up with listening to the Billboard Hip Hop Top 20 that I stopped listening to my radio.

Supergrass delivers out of this world performance
English quartet rocks Chicago's Metro

Supergrass tore through an amazing two hour set at the Metro during their first headlining show in Chicago since 1997. The show, which was sold out, was in support of their new release Life on Other Planets.

Supergrass, while very popular in the U.K. have enjoyed moderate success here but have not really had their big break yet. They’ve been called “a national treasure” by NME and were at the Metro on March 10 to prove it.

The packed house cheered with excitement as Danny, Gaz, Mick, and now official member Rob took the stage. They started the night off by playing “Za,” “Rush Hour Soul,” and “Seen the Light” making people think that they may just be going through every song of their new CD. But before anyone knew it, they were smacked in the face with “Lose It,” “Lenny,” and “Strange Ones” all off of their debut album I Should Coco.

Supergrass took a great mixture from all four of their CD’s to produce an amazing show. Being able to watch this good of musicians was a treat for anyone there. Getting to hear Gaz Coombes’ ever-changing voice and gifted guitar-playing was a treat for everyone. Mick Quinn was also doing an incredible job as he thumped away on the bass all night, and took on the guitar during “Evening of the Day” in which he sings lead vocals. Danny Goffey was doing his best to beat the crap out of the drums Peter Moon-style; while Rob Coombes added greatly to songs with his piano playing.

Supergrass took every bit of energy they had and poured it into the show, only to give it right back to the crowd who was jumping up and down, nodding their heads, and singing along as loud as they possibly could. You could tell Supergrass was having a great time, and it rubbed off on the crowd.

For the encore, Supergrass came back out and treated the crowd to favorites such as “Caught by the Fuzz” and “Sun Hits the Sky.” No one wanted it to end, Supergrass have put out a very impressive record collection, and did not fail to put on an amazing live show. Just don’t wait six years to come back guys.
